New OLED gadget: Blackview Hero 10

The Blackview Hero 10 is a foldable smartphone, that has a 6.9" 1300 nits 1080x2560 foldable AMOLED display, tested for over 250,000 folds. The phone also offers a Helio G99 chipset, 12 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage, 4G connectivity, and a dual camera setup with a main 108MP Samsung HM6 sensor.

The Blackview Hero 10 will be the world's cheapest foldable OLED phone (replacing the Nubia Flip), starting at around $430. It is listed already at AliExpress but with a higher placeholder price, which will hopefully be soon corrected.

Korea's Great Train eXpress subway installs LGD's 55" transparent OLED displays

LG Display announced that Korea's newly launched Great Train eXpress (GTX) subway service has installed the company's 55" transparent OLED displays in the cabin windows.

This is the first subway service in Korea to install transparent OLEDs (similar projects have already been deployed in China, Russia, and Japan). The idea is that the OLEDs create a "comfortable and smart on-board experience by displaying varied content". LGD initally installed 16 OLED displays on a single train with eight cars running on the inaugural GTX line between Suseo and Dongtan. Going forward, the GTX plans to install OLED panels in all of its trains.

Kopin announces its third OLED microdisplay defense design win and order

Kopin Corporation  announced that it has received its third order for its OLED microdisplays, to be used in thermal imaging vision systems, for the Indian army. Kopin says that it will deliver over 1,200 microdisplays over a six-month time span.

Last month Kopin announced that it has a achieved two important milestones in its OLED projects. Kopin is in the process of establishing an OLED deposition partner in Europe, and the company has reported impressive performance improvements.

New OLED gadget: Moondrop MIAD 01

Moondrop's first smartphone, the MIAD 01 offers a 6.7" 120Hz 2460x080P curved AMOLED display, a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset, 12GB of memory, 256 GB of storage, and a microSD card slot.

The MIAD 01 is now shipping in China, for around $350

Loewe inaugurates Europe's first open-cell OLED TV assembly line

Germany-based Loewe announced that it has established its own OLED TV assembly line, at its headquarters in Kronach, Germany. The new facility is said to be based on a 'radically designed' production process, and it is staffed by around 200 employees. The line will begin full-scale production by the end of May.

Loewe revealed that it is buying 'open-cell' WOLED panels from LG Display - and this is the first production line in Europe that can work with such panels (as opposed to complete OLED modules used in all other EU-based lines). Working with open-cell panels enables Loewe to have more control over the process and the design of its premium TVs.

New OLED gadget: Wacom Movink

The Wacom Movink is a portable pen-input tablet aimed for digital artists and creative professionals that is based on a 13.3" 1920x001080 AMOLED display (produced by Samsung Display), a super-slim and ultra-light design. The Movink is Wacom's thinnest and lightest pen display.

The Wacom Movink is now shipping for $749.

New OLED gadget: Honor 200 Lite

The Honor 200 Lite mid-range smartphone offers a 6.7" 1080x2412 AMOLED display, a Mediatek Dimensity 6080 chipset, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.

The Honor 200 Lite will ship in early May 2024, for around $370.
